Inverness
This beautiful, historic Scottish city was established in 585 AD, and there are more things to see here than just the Loch Ness monster.
King David, Inverness Castle and Medieval architecture.
King David settled in Inverness in the 12th century and built Inverness Castle – changing it from a wooden fort to stone.
Abertaff House
There are not too many houses that can boast about being almost 450 years old but Abertarff House, which was built in 1593, is one of them. The historic house was created as the town house for the Frasers of Lovat.
Georgian Style
Take a look at where the Scottish National Trust has relocated. Balnain House built around 1726 in early-Georgian style.
The old court house, jail, and tollbooth steeple also reflect Georgian architecture,
Inverness Cathedral
Alexander Ross (1834-1925), son of architect James Ross, designed the Inverness Cathedral in Gothic Revival style, having specialised in Episcopal Church buildings.
