Found – The Perfect Wristwatch to Match My Professional Image

Many people including one’s parents, I suppose, may not quite fully understand why and how some of us choose to make our careers in pursuit of our passions and I guess that’s precisely the reason why I don’t offer my professional consulting services to friends and family. They don’t quite take it seriously, which means one would have a hard time getting them to pay for those services.

In the eyes of everyone else however who values my professional consulting services in home decor, arts, image coaching, gift sourcing and events planning & management, it’s important to present a professional image and I’ve found the perfect self winding watch to complete that professional image. Not that my image was lacking terribly, but my brand new wooden skeleton watch just completes the look, no matter what outfit I pair it with.

I suppose that’s what skeleton watches are all about – carrying the capacity to accentuate any outfit, but in my opinion they work best with the many flavours of the professional look.

Admittedly I first got the idea when I spotted a number of different unique men’s watches at some pro bloggers convention I’d attended, with the dress code set to be smart-casual power dressing. Basically it was a dressing-for-success theme and one of the watches that stood out was a men’s wooden watch proudly worn by a fellow blogger and convention attendee. I just knew there had to be some women’s wooden watches available and sure enough there was!

Now as a creative whose mind is constantly working and iterating through the entire creative process of the production of anything really, I immediately started imagining how much of a challenge it must be to design and produce a wood watch for women, this prior to getting my hands on one of my own. I mean wood used as a material in something like a watch is unique to say the least, but the implied ruggedness which would be associated with wood watches is perhaps synonymous with the graft and hustle of something a man would be involved in by way of their business or profession. You’d not ordinarily associate that type of material with a women’s watch, but dare I say, I’ve found one of this kind and it’s every bit as feminine as any women’s watch. Okay, it’s actually more of a unisex design, but unisex is every bit as feminine when worn on a woman’s wrist.

So I had a choice between quite a few colours for this design, one of which was a combination of olive & acacia, but I decided to be bold and go with the rosewood & ebony coloured one since pretty much all of the others look like a bit like any other watch you might find, anywhere, although they too would draw more than one look since you can sort of see that they’re made of wood.

I’ll tell you what – my wristwatch is a great conversation starter because people cannot help but confirm their “suspicions” of whether or not the watch is indeed made of wood, but it really helps me make a big statement as a creative consultant because it sort of suggests that I come with something new, which I really do as a matter of fact!
