3 Reasons to Pave Your Drive With Asphalt

3 Reasons to Pave Your Drive With Asphalt

It’s that time again. You just came home from work and noticed that crack in the driveway that extends from the top to the bottom. When you paved it 10 years ago, it was a beautiful piece of art. Now, it would probably complain every time you pull in if it could. You just can’t stand it anymore.

It’s time to repave, but maybe you should consider a different material this time. More and more homeowners are learning about the advantages of using asphalt. Below are three great reasons you should consider switching the next time you choose to repave your driveway.

It’s a Renewable Resource

Asphalt is a renewable resource. It consists of sand, gravel, and stones and is held together with cement and water. This makes it the natural choice for the family doing their best to support a greener environment.  Because of the fact that every ingredient of asphalt is renewable, asphalt is being constantly recycled.

Asphalt also contains fewer toxins than that of other choices, because it uses fewer fertilizers and ore in its mixture reducing its carbon footprint. This not only means a gorgeous front drive for you, but years added to the life of the planet we live on.

It’s Cost Effective

How much money have you saved this year? Probably not much. Want to save some more? When you get ready to pave your driveway, make sure to use asphalt. It may take more work to make it, but because of how recyclable it is, asphalt saves everyone money over the long haul. The curing time of asphalt is also much quicker than that of other substances.

This makes the job go quicker and leaves your wallet a little less light than it would normally be if you choose to hire someone to do the work for you. Asphalt is cheaper than concrete to install and may need a little more repair than concrete over the years, but it’s cheaper to do so.

It’s Long Lasting

Have you ever invested money in a car that should have lasted you 10 years and only made 3? How about a brand name shirt that faded on the first wash? There are probably more than a few of us that even invested in a toy we thought our child would love forever only to find it discarded in two weeks.

When we invest our time and hard earned money, we expect what we gain to last as long as possible (unless, of course, you blow your paycheck on lottery tickets.) You will never be let down with asphalt. As long as the installation is done correctly with a great foundation and proper drainage, your driveway should last over a decade without having to be replaced.

If you enjoy long-lasting, money saving, options that are great for the environment, asphalt is simply the better choice when considering paving your driveway.
